Greatest Rock Drummer Ever?

Greatest Rock Drummer Ever?

Excluding the Catman of course who was the best drummer in your eyes? I'd say Moon. Bonham and Moon are neck and neck. Funny that those guys have been dead for decades and yet still no one can touch them!

I think that Eric Carr and Eric Singer are both awesome.

You know this is personal preference. There are some really great rock drummers out there that often get overlooked. The guy who is currently playing for Styx for example is excellent. Rick Allen before he lost his arm was very good. An arguement could be made for Myron Grombacher as well. (He was Pat Benatar's drummer).

But.....I think Neil Peart has to be near the top if not the top. Do yourselves a favor and go to youtube and seaarch for Red Barchetta. And then just watch him.

Peter is my favorite drummer in my heart. Neil is my favorite in my head.

As much as Buddy Rich could be agrued to be the best jazz drummer or best drummer in the world, this thread is the Greatest Rock drummer.

Bonham as to be in the top 5, I would imagine.

BTW...just for laughs, where does Tommy Lee rank?

Rick Allen. Period. After what he went through. I mean, he has stayed so consistant.

Tommy Cluefetos is also exceptional.

the orinigal drummer for steelheart was super awesome. it's a shame he passed away! god rest his soul! wherever he is, i'm sure he's kicking some serious butt and taking names playing on those drums. i also love torry castellano from the donnas. she's a lean, mean drumming machine
